First Canadian military evacuation flight leaves Tel Aviv

As the battle in the Middle East continues, Defense Minister Bill Blair has confirmed on social media the first Canadian military evacuation flight has departed Tel Aviv en route to Athens.

Roughly 130 passengers are on board.

This comes after Hamas attacked Israel last weekend.

Thousands are dead including three Canadians.

We’re working tirelessly to assist Canadians in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.

I can confirm that the first @CanadianForces evacuation flight has departed from Tel Aviv with approximately 130 passengers on board.

We will continue to be there for Canadians who need help.
