India suspends visa applications from Canada

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau remains steadfast on his accusation of the Indian Government’s involvement in the killing of a Canadian Sikh leader in British Columbia earlier this year.

Trudeau made the accusations Monday in the House of Commons.

Relations between Canada and India have begun to falter with the expelling of a Canadian diplomat from the country to the suspension of visas being issued to residents of Canada earlier today.

The Indian Government claims the suspension is due to “operational reasons”.

However, despite increased tensions, Trudeau remains open to speaking with India.

“We call upon the government of India to work with us, to take seriously these allegations, and to allow justice to follow its course.”

No other world leaders have come out in support or corroborated Trudeau’s accusations, but the Prime Minister says the evidence he was provided was credible.
