Sudden outage leave thousands in N.B.without power

It was a dark night for thousands in the southeastern part of the province.

The lights suddenly went out at around 10 p.m. Monday night.

NB Power reported over 25, 000 in areas including Moncton, Riverview, Dieppe and surrounding regions without electricity.

Most had their power restored by around 1 a.m.

NB Power has now confirmed a transmission system outage was to blame.
