Info session on North end stink to be held this week

Concerns are still being raised about a strong odour in Moncton’s north end.

The city is once again looking for input and an information session will be held Wednesday night at Evergreen School from 6 pm to 7 pm.

Since 2021, 19 surveys have been conducted by the Department of Environment and Local Government and the city.

The main sources were identified as the Rayan Environmental Solutions and the TransAqua composting facility.

Both completed odour control plans in July 2022, but the smell hasn’t gone away.

In August 2023, the City of Moncton hired an environmental engineering firm, to conduct air quality testing.
