Outdoor gear store to open second Maritime store in Moncton

Outdoor enthusiasts in the province will soon have a new place to shop.

Mountain Equipment Company, or MEC, will officially open in the Mapleton Power Centre in Moncton on Saturday.

The 25,000-square-foot location on Wyse Street is the former home of Bed, Bath and Beyond.

This is MEC’s second location in the Maritimes, the other is in Halifax.

It sells gear for activities including trail running, cycling, snowshoeing, and outdoor sports.
