Man charged in connection with drug investigation in Greater Moncton

Charges have been laid in connection with an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in Greater Moncton.

On July 27, a 41-year-old Steeves Mountain man was arrested at a Fredericton Road business in Salisbury.

He is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and is scheduled to return to court on August 1 for a bail hearing.

This is in connection with searches at three locations on Murphy Avenue in Moncton, Chianti Street in Dieppe, and a business on Route 115 in Irishtown.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested during the search in Dieppe.

Officers seized various drugs including eight kilos of crystal meth, what is believed to be fentanyl, Shady 8 pills, drug paraphernalia and money.

On June 1, officers also arrested a 41-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman in the Salisbury area, in connection with the investigation.

The two women were later released from custody, and are both scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on August 9.
