Emergency responders battle grass fire in Dieppe

High winds and dry conditions fuelled a grass fire in Dieppe.

Firefighters were called to an area between the walking trail and the Petitcodiac River off Champlain Street on Sunday afternoon.

Dieppe Fire Platoon Chief Justin Gaudet says the fire burned about 1000 square metres.

Firefighters were on the scene for around an hour.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
