SiRT investigating incident involving RCMP

The Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team will review police actions after an incident on Lutz Street in Moncton.

RCMP responded to reports of domestic violence Monday morning at a home.

A man with a weapon reportedly wouldn’t cooperate with police and refused to drop his weapon. An officer fired their gun, and the man was then arrested.

He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

No further details were released by RCMP as the investigation is ongoing.

SIRT is requested to conduct an independent investigations into serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
