30 Days Of Community Caring Now Underway

Recent statistics show the need for food banks has never been greater which makes Food Depot Alimentaire’s 30 Days of Community Caring more important than ever.

The 2016 campaign has officially kicked off and will run until Christmas Eve as various events and organizations raise money and food donations.

Food Depot president Dale Hicks says the demand has grown since the new Peter McKee Community Food Centre opened in May.

Hicks says recent statistics show a 4.1 percent spike in demand at food banks in New Brunswick last year alone.

The Tim Hortons Food Drive will be one of the biggest during the campaign which will collect food donations on Saturday during the Royale Greater Moncton Santa Claus Parade.

Advance Savings and Omista Credit Unions officially launched the campaign with a $16,000 donation toward the purchase of 20 Christmas food boxes.
