3 arrested after break-ins reported in Norton

Three people from Saint John have been arrested after officers responded to reports of suspicious activity in Norton.

Hampton RCMP said the call came in at about 11:06 a.m. on July 24, when individuals were seen looking through vehicles at a business on Route 124.

Police said the three people ran into a wooded area when officers arrived, and multiple stolen items were found at the scene.

According to RCMP, additional support was brought in from the Grand Bay‑Westfield, Hampton and Sussex detachments, along with the Police Dog Service and a drone unit.

A 40‑year‑old woman was arrested without incident.

Police said a 46‑year‑old man was located by the dog team and suffered minor injuries, and a 45‑year‑old man was later arrested on Route 1.

RCMP said the woman appeared in Saint John provincial court on Monday and was charged with two counts of break and enter and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

She was released on bail under house‑arrest conditions.

Police said the two men are scheduled to appear in court on July 30 and August 6.

Police said several stolen items have been recovered and officers are working to return them to their owners.
