Members needed for Shediac Lions Club

Dwindling numbers has the Shediac Lions Club putting out a call for new members.

They’ll hold a meet and greet from 7 pm to 9 pm tonight for those interested. It’s being held at the Multipurpose Centre.

Vice-President Gary Aucoin says their service area has also expanded, “Because other clubs have closed down, we’ve taken more or less responsible for the Shediac, Grand-Dique, Cocagne to Cap-Pele and Shemogue areas.”

The Lions Club has many tasks including helping with breakfasts and lunches for area schools, and also with local food banks.

“It’s a perfect volunteering opportunity for someone who believes working in the community and strengthening the community is good for all those who live in the community. We are looking for those who are dedicated and who are willing to do a little bit of work,” Aucoin adds.

Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to reach out to Aucoin at 506-850-4198, or attend tonight’s meet and greet.
