Man dies after shooting in Lincoln

A homicide in Lincoln is under investigation.

At around 4:10 am on March 12, members of the Oromocto and Keswick RCMP detachments and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a roadside firearm-related incident on Route 102.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a 27-year-old man who suffered what were believed to be serious, life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.

The man died in the hospital as a result of his injuries.

“We believe this to be suspicious in nature, and his death is now being investigated as a homicide,” says RCMP Corporal Dan Sharpe. “This is also believed to be an isolated incident.”

The situation did not meet the criteria to issue an Alert Ready message.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information is asked to contact the Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267). Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
