Man arrested for impaired driving in Saint John

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for impaired driving following a collision on Rothesay Avenue.

At around 1:11 am Saturday morning, a 911 caller reported a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed, that failed to stop at a red light, and then collided with a utility pole on Rothesay Avenue at Ashburn Lake Road.

When Saint John Police arrived on scene, they found a man in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Corolla. He was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The driver was then arrested, and released with a court appearance scheduled at a later date.
