TikTok to be banned from all Canadian government mobile devices

TikTok is about to be banned all Canadian government devices issued mobile devices.

Treasury Board President Mona Fortier made the statement today, saying the privacy and security risks are unacceptable.

At this point, she says, it’s precautionary with no evidence so far that government information has been compromised.

As for the rest of Canadians, Fortier adds, it’s a personal choice whether they choose to use the popular app, which is owned by Chinese company.

The ban goes into effect, Tuesday, February 28.
