Snow, Freezing Rain and Ice Pellets Close NB Schools

Weather will vary between snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, or just simply rain throughout the day, but it will depend on where you are located or travelling to.

To the north and northwest, Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings, with up to 25 centimetres of snow expected.

For regions including Fredericton, Oromocto, and Woodstock, a freezing rain warning for a duration of up to four hours.

For the southern, including Saint John, St. Stephen, Sussex, Moncton, and Southeast New Brunswick, a special weather statement remains, with the potential for up to five centimetres of snow and ice pellets today along with an extended period of freezing rain.

Students in the province all have the day off. Schools are closed due to road conditions.

As of 7 a.m. Friday, travel was not recommended on the Trans-Canada Highway between Longs Creek, west of Fredericton, and Moncton due to extremely poor driving conditions.
