2021 Dragon Boat Festival Cancelled Due to COVID-19

There will be no Dragon Boat Festival on Jones Lake again this year.

Organizers have decided to cancel for 2021 due to the pandemic.

Co-Chair Norval McConnell says the supplier of their equipment won’t be getting any boats onto the water for festivals until late summer or early fall.

He says they also cannot guarantee the safety of their teams under Public Health guidelines.

The Festival raises money for the Lions Sick Children’s Fund.

The Dragon Boat Festival is expected to return in Spring 2022.
