2015 was a spectacular year for Dieppe according to its Mayor.
Yvon Lapierre says when people look back on the year, the Acadie/Amirault construction will be the highlight.
He says the raising of the roadbed project will have a great positive effect.
“We think it’ll take care of any potential climate change impact on the river, and the continued increase in rainfall, so that’s the first thing that comes to mind,” says Lapierre.
Lapierre adds he was very pleased with how the contractors managed to keep the flow of traffic going reasonably well under the circumstances.
“The collaboration of our citizens in moving traffic along both on Amirault street and down Thomas and Champlain and all the other diversions of traffic that took place,” says Lapierre.
He says being able to complete the project on time and on budget was also noteworthy.
