2015 A Great Year For Parks Canada In New Brunswick

2015 was a successful year for Parks Canada sites in New Brunswick.

Kouchibouguac National Park and all the national historic sites in eastern New Brunswick saw increases in visitation this year.

Three new permanent all equipped campsites helped boost Kouchibouguac’s entry by 18% and campground night stays by 21%.

The Park will be adding more sites with electricity, water and sewer service over the next few years thanks to $30 million in infrastructure funding from the federal government.

This year, the Park introduced the Dancing Dunes Festival, and saw the return of the Fabulous Fall Festival which all helped increase visitation.

National historic sites such as Fort Beausejour – Fort Cumberland saw a visitation increase of 6%, Boishebert and Beaubears Island received 13% more visitors and Monument Lefebvre increased by 43%.
