2 people found dead in Fredericton

Fredericton police say the deaths of two people in the city do not appear to be suspicious.

Officers received a 911 call from an apartment complex on Forest Hill Road around 11 a.m. Saturday.

When police entered an apartment, they found the bodies of two people inside.

Police Chief Martin Gaudet said the two were Russian immigrants who had been in Canada for 16 years.

“Next of kin notification has yet to be done as it is challenging, therefore, we will not be releasing any details on the individuals,” Gaudet said in a statement.

Gaudet said there is no threat to public safety, adding they do not believe the deaths are suspicious at this time.
