2 arrests after Sussex break-in

Two men from Sussex have been arrested following a break-in at a business in the community.

RCMP responded to a break-and-enter in progress on Main Street around 3 a.m. on Aug. 29.

“When police arrived, they observed that two men had broken a window to gain entry to the business, and were fleeing the scene with a large number of stolen items,” police said in a news release on Tuesday.

Later that same day, officers arrested a 42-year-old and a 54-year-old in connection with their investigation.

Police said they also recovered around $1,750 worth of stolen property.

The 54-year-old was released while the 42-year-old, who was serving a custodial community sentence, was remanded into custody.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court in December.
