2 arrested after shots fired inside apartment building

Two men are facing charges after police say shots were fired inside an eastern New Brunswick apartment building.

Mounties said they were called to an apartment complex in the community of Rogersville around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene while a 21-year-old man was later arrested on Route 126 in Rogersville.

“Nobody was injured during this isolated incident, and there is no concern for the community,” said an RCMP news release.

Police executed a search warrant in the apartment the following day and seized ammunition from the location.

The 30-year-old man has been charged with possessing a prohibited firearm. He remains in custody and is scheduled to return to court on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old man was charged with careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm. He was released on conditions and a future court date.
