Fatal Incident Involving NB Power Technicians Under Investigation

An incident involving two NB Power linesmen is under investigation by WorkSafeNB.

Spokesperson Marc Belliveau confirmed there was an incident last night involving two powerline technicians conducting restoration work in the Moncton area.

One of the technicians was killed and the other was injured.

Multiple reports say the incident happened on Albert Mines Road.

“The NB Power family sends our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of our colleague during this difficult time and our thoughts are with our colleague in hospital,” says Lori Clark, President and CEO of NB Power.

“At NB Power, safety is at the heart of everything we do and we are heartbroken by this incident. Losing a team member is devastating to our entire NB Power family.”

No further details are being released as the situation is being investigated by RCMP and WorkSafeNB.
