Freezing Rain And Wind Cause Outages For Thousands Of NBers

Outages across the province have left over thousands of NB Power customers without electricity.

As of 11:15 am this morning, over 14, 000 thousand were in the dark.

The majority are in Southeast New Brunswick. Over 6200 hundred in the Moncton, Riverview Dieppe region and almost 4400 in the Shediac Cap-Pele areas.

NB Power says freezing rain and wind caused trees to become heavy and branches made contact with power lines.

Spokesperson Marc Belliveau says ATVs are being used to help make repairs in remote areas.

Additional workers have been dispatched to the Moncton and Bouctouche areas.
