Moncton Fire Battles Blaze On Mountain Road

An early morning fire on Mountain Road.

Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Mike Lake says when they arrived at around 5:15 am on Tuesday morning, there was heavy smoke coming from the attic at 651 Mountain Road.

It is located above an apartment, which is also above a business.

Mountain Road was blocked between West Lane and Vaughn Harvey Boulevard, as firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Lake says it only took around 20 minutes to extinguish the fire, but crews remained on the scene for cleanup afterwards.

A total of 13 firefighters helped to battle the blaze.

The building was extensively damaged by water, smoke and fire.

There’s no word yet on a cause.
