NB Power crews are on the ground working to get the heat and lights back on for thousands of customers in the province, which is experiencing freezing rain, rain and double-digit temperatures.
Meghan Gerrish of NB Power says crews are dealing with a lot of ice build-up on lines and trees, so they’re spending their times de-icing lines to get the power restored and she says road conditions are treacherous in some areas. Gerrish says the rain is actually working in their favour to help melt some of the ice.
