Transport Truck Hits Traffic Lights On Mountain Road

Repairs are being done after a tractor-trailer knocked down a set of traffic lights on Mountain Road.

Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Keith Guptill says the driver didn’t realize the road was closed at the intersection of Birchmount Drive.

The truck was backing up when it struck the traffic light pole and knocked it to the ground.

Live wires were exposed and power crews had to be called in.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 am Friday.

The City of Moncton issued an advisory to motorists this morning advising them to be cautious and patient as repairs were completed.

No one was hurt in the incident.
