UPD: Fatal fire in Charlottetown, PEI

The investigation continues into a fatal fire in a multi-unit residential building in Charlottetown, PEI.

The Charlottetown Fire Department was called to Green Street at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Two people were found dead inside, and three others were transported to the hospital with undetermined injuries.

There’s no word on their conditions.

Several pets were also impacted; some of them were injured while others died in the fire.

Displaced residents are being cared for by the Canadian Red Cross.

There was extensive damage to the building, and the cause is still being determined.
