Greater Moncton celebrates the holiday season

The festive season officially began over the weekend.

The Greater Moncton Santa Claus parade brought tens of thousands of people to the downtown on Saturday night.

The annual event is known to kick-start shopping in Greater Moncton in advance of Christmas.

The parade made its way with 76 floats, bands and other performers from Cameron Street to Paul Street, leading Old Saint Nick and his reindeer into the community.

A large committee of volunteers dedicates more than 2,000 hours to organizing the parade each year.

Preparations for next year’s event will begin early in 2026.
