N.B. family to share big lottery win

A mother and daughter are $500,000 richer thanks to the Daily Grand lottery.

Sandra and Tarra Millard from Clarendon, New Brunswick, have been purchasing tickets together since 2023.

They won the second prize, which is a choice of $25,000 a year for life or the lump sum of $500,000.

After living far from her daughter for many years, Sandra and her husband moved to New Brunswick and in with Tarra and her family as soon as they retired.

Soon after, the Millards started their weekly lottery purchases together.

They’re not sure exactly how they’ll spend all of the prize money just yet, but they are sure the first $100,000 will be put to good use.

“We’ll put the bulk of it in the bank, each take $50,000 and do what we need to do, pay off bills, go Christmas shopping, just spoil ourselves a bit,” Tarra said. “Then let the rest sit, maybe invest some of it and maybe in the new year look at buying a new home for us all.”

The Daily Grand ticket was purchased in Saint John.
