Armed man arrested after threats made in parking lot

An arrest after a weapon incident on Mountain Road.

RCMP say that at around 6:15 pm on Wednesday, they received reports of a man with an edged weapon threatening others.

The man fled the scene, but was located walking near the Mountain and Maplehurst Road intersection.

Police say he approached aggressively, and a taser had to be discharged.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was released from custody and will return to court on November 13.
