UPD: Boil water order in Dieppe lifted

A boil water order in Dieppe has now been lifted.

It was issued on Saturday, affter a water main break.

Residents in areas from 1951 to 2685 Amirault, 16 and 19 Léonide, André, Bayview, Carter, Dover, Florida, Freda, Jessica, J.F. Bourgeois, Joanne, Jocelyn, Kristian, Marco, Raphaël, Sophie, Telex, Ulysse, Vézina streets and Domaine Dover Estates were impacted.

City officials are now asking residents to take the following steps:

  • Cold interior and exterior water faucets: Run tap water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Hot water faucets: Run tap water for at least 15 minutes for a 40-gallon hot water tank and at least 30 minutes for a 80-gallon hot water tank or larger.
  • Water dispensers from refrigerators should be flushed with at least one litre of water before consumption.
  • Automatic ice dispensers should be emptied of ice made during the boil water order. Then, discard any ice made over an additional 24-hour period to assure that any potential contaminated water has been discarded.
