Upper Cape woman, 40, dead after head-on crash with transport truck

A 40-year-old woman from Upper Cape is dead after her car hit a transport truck head on in Baie-Verte, N.B.

The RCMP says it happened on Friday around 11 p.m. on Route 16.

Investigators believe the woman was driving west when her vehicle crossed the centre line and hit a transport track travelling in the other direction.

The woman died at the scene. The transport truck driver was not injured.

Firefighters, paramedics, a member of the Coroner’s Office were on the scene. A collision reconstructionist is helping with the ongoing investigation.
