Man charged after weapon incident in downtown Moncton

Charges have been laid following an incident in Moncton involving a man with a weapon.

RCMP say that at around 11:40 pm on September 19, an armed man was reportedly making threats towards others while walking towards the downtown core.

Officers were conducting foot patrols near Robinson Court when they found him.

A 31-year-old man was arrested without incident.

He is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering death threats.

He’ll return to court on October 1.
