RCMP seeking info after alleged armed robbery on walking trail

More information is needed after a reported armed robbery in Dieppe.

RCMP say it happened at around 9:30 pm on August 19 on a walking trail near Champlain Street and Virginia Avenue.

Two people who were sitting on a bench were approached by an individual who demanded personal items.

Police say they were reportedly carrying a wooden item that may have been a baseball bat.

After a short dispute, the suspect took off on foot.

RCMP say they do not have an available description of the individual.

They’re asking anyone who was walking, travelling in, or who lives in the area, and may have security camera or dash cam footage or information about the incident, to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400.
