RCMP issue over 300 tickets during traffic blitz

A busy few days for officers conducting a traffic enforcement blitz in Greater Moncton.

There were 304 tickets handed out, and 40 vehicles were towed during the operation held from July 11 to 13.

It focused on unsafe vehicles, speeding and proper use of seatbelts.

During the operation, 82 various traffic violations were issued under the Motor Vehicle Act, 63 of the tickets were for speeding, 61 for not having a valid inspection sticker and 31 for not wearing a seatbelt.

“We are still issuing far too many tickets for speeding and vehicles without valid inspection certificates”, says Sergeant Ghislain David with the Tactical Traffic Enforcement Unit.
