11th Annual “Transplant Trot” In Moncton Today

This morning in Moncton, you can join in the 11th Annual Transplant Trot.

That’s according to Mark Black, a heart and double lung transplant survivor.

The run actually takes place this morning, but registration is still open.

“There’s a 5 and 10 kilometre walk and/or run. You don’t have to be an athlete, we have some athletes who come every year who can run the 10k in 35 or 40 minutes, but we also have people who go out and walk the 5k in an hour and just go out for a nice morning stroll,” says Black. “It’s really about participation and raising awareness.”

Black says everyone is welcome to join, even kids with a 1 kilometre kids Fun Run, and since it’s mostly about raising awareness, everyone will get a medal, even the kids!

He adds if you want to participate, you can sign up at the Moncton Press Club on Assomption Boulevard at 8:30 this morning.
