U de M students feel bus transportation improvements are needed

A 2024 Université de Moncton students’ survey examined their impressions of Codiac Transpo services.

The responses of 378 students were received, but Mark Leblanc of the Active Transportation Committee says the poll found that three out of four do not use public transit.

Almost 70 per cent said they were either somewhat dissatisfied or very unsatisfied with the services.

Some of the reasons behind their dissatisfaction, cost, schedules that were not convenient, trips that were too long and not reliable, and some felt it was safer to use their own car to get to class.

The results of the survey were presented to Moncton City Council this week.
