Man Shot And Killed In Northwest Moncton

An 18-year-old man is dead after a shooting on Logan Lane in Moncton.

RCMP Corporal Hans Ouellette says officers were called to a residence at around 6:10am Monday morning after reports of shots fired.

A man who suffered gunshot wounds was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Ouellette says this is believed to be an isolated incident, “We do not believe the safety of the public to be at risk.”

He adds this incident did not meet the criteria to send out an Alert Ready.

There may still be police activity in that area for the rest of the day.

Anyone with information is asked to contact New Brunswick RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Corporal Ouellette also adds there was no indication of any connection between this incident and the Hold and Secure in place at two Moncton High Schools on the same day.
