RCMP Respond To Several Serious Incidents Overnight

RCMP are investigating several incidents of armed robbery and assault in the region between March 24 and 25.

Police say at around 6:37pm Thursday night, they received a report of a robbery in Sumner Park in Moncton.

A man with a weapon forced another to give up a bag he was carrying and then fled the scene.

At 10:25pm, Thursday night, RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at an apartment building on McLaughlin Road.

When police arrived on scene they found a man suffering from stab wounds.

Three men were arrested at a nearby apartment building.

At around 11:28pm, officers responded to a report of a home invasion on McSweeney Avenue.

Due to the nature of the call, multiple police resources attended the scene before determining no incident had taken place.

Finally, at 4:12am Friday morning, RCMP received another report of a home invasion on Gauvin Street in Dieppe.

Police believe three men wearing masks and carrying weapons entered the home and stole money before fleeing in an older model black Ford Mustang.

A man was treated for minor injuries and the investigation is ongoing.

“This was a busy night for our members, with many serious calls,” says Staff Sergeant Dave MacDonnell of the Codiac Regional RCMP. “We take all calls for service seriously, and appreciate the public’s help as we continue our investigations into these incidents.”

At this time, police do not believe these incidents to be connected.

Anyone with information that could assist police in their investigations is asked to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400.
