Tuition to rise at Université de Moncton

Tuition fees at the Université de Moncton are going up.

The board of governors adopted its operating budget for 2025-26.

It includes a 3 per cent increase in tuition fees.

The budget forecasts an overall surplus of $141,000 allocated as follows:

  • Moncton campus: $179,000
  • Edmundston campus: $96,000
  • Shippagan campus: $134,000 (deficit)

Also at the meeting held over the weekend, Madeleine Dubé was named the 10th Chancellor in U de M’s history. She will hold the position for the next five years.

Denis Prud’homme’s mandate in the role as president and vice-chancellor was also renewed for five years, effective July 1.

The board of governors also adopted an agreement in principle with the Association du personnel administratif et professionnel de l’Université de Moncton (APAPUM).

It was ratified by APAPUM members on April 8 and covers a period from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
