Sackville Fire Leaves Man Injured, Dog Dies

A man suffered burns in a Sackville home fire early this morning.

Sackville Fire Deputy Chief Mike Green says there were flames coming from the windows of the King Street bungalow when they arrived just before 2am on Tuesday.

A mother and her son managed to escape and were sitting in a vehicle outside when firefighters arrived.

Green says they were very lucky to get out when they did.

Three dogs were also saved, a fourth suffered smoke inhalation and is being treated by a vet.

A fifth dog died in the blaze.

The inside of the home is extensively damaged.

There’s no word on a cause yet, but Green says the fire is not considered to be suspicious.
