Man arrested after four hour standoff with RCMP

A 25-year-old Grand Falls man is facing charges following an assault and standoff in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska.

RCMP went to a home at around 9:30 am on Monday on St. Pierre Street.

It was determined that the victim didn’t suffer any injuries, but the suspect was still in the residence.

An RCMP crisis negotiator, Police Dog Services, and Ambulance New Brunswick attended the scene.

Officers finally managed to negotiate and gain access after four hours.

The man is facing charges of assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
