No one hurt in machine fire at Dieppe company

A machine fire at a Dieppe company kept firefighters busy for around two hours overnight.

Employees were forced to evacuate at around 1:30 a.m. Monday from the Irving Tissue on Dawson Avenue.

Dieppe Fire Platoon Chief Denis Roberge says crews got inside a machine to remove materials that had caught fire.

Roberge says one of the challenges with this fire was the size of the building and trying to ventilate it.

He says the damage was contained to the machine. No one was injured.

There’s no word if daily operations at the company were affected.
