UPDATE: It’s Groundhog Day!

Many of us are putting faith in the groundhog’s predictions this morning.

Every year on February 2nd, the rodents emerge from their dens to tell the world whether we’ll have to endure another 6 weeks of winter or if there will be an early arrival of spring.

Shubenacadie Sam was the first to emerge. He saw his shadow, which means six more weeks of winter.

Punxsutawney Phil’s agreed with Sam, and did see a shadow, but Wiarton Willie in Ontario didn’t see a shadow, which means an early spring for that province.

On a side note, Lucy the Lobster out of Nova Scotia, also saw a shadow.
