Attempted Murder Charges Laid In Moncton Shooting

Two people have been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting on Robinson Street in downtown Moncton.

RCMP arrived on scene at around 1:40am Thursday morning, where they found a 47-year-old man suffering from a serious, but non life threatening gunshot wound.

While fleeing the scene, the suspect vehicle rammed a police cruiser. The driver then lost control on Mountain Road and collided with a snowbank.

Three passengers were arrested without incident.

Thirty-year-old Skylar Surette of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and 29-year-old Alysha Randell of Moncton appeared in court yesterday via tele-remand.

Surette was remanded into custody and will return to court on February 11, 2022, for a bail hearing.

Randell was also remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on January 31, 2022, for a bail hearing.

A third suspect, a 22-year-old Moncton man was also arrested and remains in custody on an unrelated matter.

There is no word on the current condition of the victim.
