Shots fired at Riverview home

An investigation is underway after shots were fired at a Beverly Crescent home in Riverview.

Codiac RCMP Inspector Jonathan White says reports were received on March 1, after a resident was awoken by a loud bang, between 2 am and 3 am, “Further inspection from the scene and the neighbour’s properties, located 22 calibre rounds at the residence and outside the residence as well. We also located a second bullet hole in the bumper of a vehicle parked in an adjacent driveway.”

He adds officers reviewed security footage that showed a vehicle passing the home at around the time the loud bang was heard, but officers were unable to determine the make and model of the vehicle.

Several casings were also found outside the residence on the street.

“Codiac RCMP believes that they have identified the individual involved in the matter, but there’s a lack of cooperation from witnesses and persons involved from coming forward,” White says.

It’s believed the shooting occurred because the suspects believed someone of interest to them was residing there, but White says they were not.

No one was hurt in the incident.
