Applicants Needed For YMCA Youth Advisory Committee

The YMCA of Greater Moncton is looking for applicants for a youth advisory committee for its north end centre.

Anyone between the ages of 12 and 25 can apply.

Committee members duties will include encouraging youth involvement in fundraisers, and holding forums on programming at the north end YMCA.

The purpose of the Youth Advisory Committee is to encourage youth to become decision makers and continue to offer up to date programming that benefits the needs of the community. The youth council will ensure that the YMCA will continue to feel like a safe and accessible space for children and youth.

Some of the youth’s responsibilities will be to plan two events per term that bring focus to youth programs and the power of youth voices, and bringing awareness about the importance of contribution from youth to other generations. Committee members will also help plan and execute YMCA fundraisers with funds raised supporting existing YMCA programs. This will encourage youth involvement in philanthropy, while supporting the YMCA as a charitable organization.

To apply, please email your resume and expression of interest to Nicole.wry@ymcamoncton.ca by September 19 2021.
