RCMP Seize Shipment Of Illegal Cannabis Candies

A warning from RCMP about illegal cannabis candies.

This comes after a seizure of products from the Canada Post Distribution Centre in Dieppe.

Police were notified of the illegal shipment of cannabis candies and dried cannabis on Tuesday.

Corporal Hans Ouellette says the packages originated in British Columbia and were destined for several locations including New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

“The cannabis candies seized would be indistinguishable from regular candies that are sold in stores,” says Ouellette. “One package imitates a popular brand of candy. Another was in a unmarked resealable bag. Cannabis remains a controlled substance, and the only legal way to obtain marijuana products is to purchase it from a licensed provider.”

Police say the products will be destroyed once the investigation is concluded.
