Managing Director Chosen For Rising Tide Initiative

Rising Tide has named a Managing Director for its community initiative.

Myriam Mekni will begin her role on May 31.

Mekni has served as Executive Director with Multicultural Association of the Greater Moncton area for the past four years.

“Our Board is very pleased to have an individual of Myriam’s calibre assuming the role as the inaugural Managing Director of Rising Tide” says Board president Dale Hicks. “Her leadership skills and experience will be instrumental as we deliver on our goals of housing the most vulnerable in our community over the next few months.”

Rising Tide is receiving over $15 million from all three levels of government to provide an estimated 155 units of affordable housing over the next three years.

A minimum of 62 units are expected to be in place by the end of this year.

“I am truly honoured to be part of an organization whose vision aligns perfectly with the highest social pillar of Moncton’s strategic plan,” says Mekni. “I look forward to building strong partnerships and to contribute to transform our community into a vibrant, safe and accommodating place for all to live.”
