Pilot Project In Dieppe For On Demand Transit

The City of Dieppe is launching a free on demand transit service on weekends.

The pilot project, will allow users to book a ride, through an app, and request transit at any time.

Bus users will be able to book their ride through the free Blaise Transit mobile app available on Apple Store and Google Play. They will be able to use the app to request transit at any time, and requests can also be made by telephone. Riders will then be matched with others who have similar trips, and a bus will be dispatched to serve them.

“We are proud to innovate by partnering with Blaise Transit and Codiac Transpo to offer an on-demand transit service. This technological shift will allow us to improve the experience of bus users,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre.

It will be offered as of May 29th, and will replace routes 93, 94 and 95.

“We are pleased to be associated with a forward-thinking city like Dieppe, which makes the well-being of the public and the environment a top priority. Together, we will ensure that transit is more attractive and user-friendly for riders, while also being an economical and responsible choice as the region recovers,” said Justin Hunt, Blaise Transit CEO and co-founder.
